Almost every Premier League team had a midweek Carabao Cup match so once again a tricky time awaits fantasy football managers. So, let’s tackle some of those issues and try to find out the best picks for Gameweek 7.
Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 7 Captain Picks
The Captaincy Dilemma
Manchester City have a really tempting fixture at home to Brighton and Hove Albion. Hence, Sergio Aguero must be the first choice for the armband. He was also given a rest midweek so should start this match. However, City will travel to Hoffenheim next Tuesday so it is likely that Aguero will be taken off for Jesus after 60-65 minutes. Trying to second guess Pep is an impossible task though, so who really knows what he will do.
Normally, a trip to Huddersfield should be a relatively comfortable fixture for Spurs and Harry Kane. However, Kane’s poor form combined with no Eriksen makes it a bit tricky to call. Spurs should still win but will Kane score or will it be Son, Lucas, Alli or even Lamela? Kane still remains a decent shout for the captaincy.
A darkhorse captaincy pick could be the in-form Lacazette at home to Watford. He seems to be in decent touch and is the most likely goal scorer from Arsenal. However, a slight price increase midweek may be the deterrent.
Richarlison is another favourable option to hand the armband to. The volatile Brazillian was in superb form before getting sent off a few weeks ago. Fulham tend to give away lots of chances which could see Richarlison net a brace.
Injury Concerns
Christian Eriksen has been ruled out from the match against Huddersfield. Lloris and Vorm are also likely to miss that game. Hence, Gazzaniga will probably start in goal for Spurs. Aurier is undergoing assessment so he’s also a doubt.
From Brighton, Pascal Groß remains out. Rondon will miss the match for Newcastle against Leicester whereas Demarai Gray will be out of the squad for the Foxes.
Fulham’s Alfie Mawson will miss the away trip to Everton while Watford’s Janmaat is out for 5-6 weeks with a knee injury.
