Today’s edition of Football Transfer News brings you updates on possible Premier League transfers for Morgan Sanson, Fekir, Fellaini and Mario Gotze.
Latest On Sanson, Fekir, Fellaini and Mario Gotze
Morgan Sanson
Morgan Sanson was a pivotal part of Marseille’s run to the UEFA League final in 2018. The midfielder is attracting attention from Premier League clubs. Reports in France suggest Spurs are leading the chase for the transfer of the player. At just 23, Sanson fits Pochettino’s player profile. L’Equipe rates the player at €10 million, well within Spurs’ budget for this transfer window.
Nabil Fekir
The transfer of Nabil Fekir from Lyon to Liverpool took another turn today. Fekir had even undergone media duties. There are question marks over the players’ knee injury. Anfield medical officials flew out to Paris in the week to allay those fears. Today, this transfer has gone cold. Didier Deschamps, the France head coach, has told players they will not be leaving the French training camp to conduct transfer business, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Marouane Fellaini
Marouane Fellaini has been offered a new contract by Manchester United. The midfielder has yet to respond and Robert Pires, the former Arsenal man, believes Fellaini would be an “ideal” transfer for the Gunners. Fellaini has not enjoyed the easiest of relationships with Jose Mourinho and could be the next signing for Arsenal manager Unai Emery. Robert Pires sees Fellaini as a “quality” addition to the Arsenal squad adding steel and strength. Pires told Metro that the other Arsenal players will benefit from the players’ presence.
Mario Gotze
Liverpool are interested in the transfer of Mario Gotze from Borussia Dortmund according to reports in the Evening Standard. Gotze was Germany’s 2014 World Cup hero and has worked with Jurgen Klopp before at Dortmund. In 2016 he nearly linked up again with Klopp at Liverpool. That move did not materialize with the player opting to move back to Dortmund after his time with Bayern Munich. Gotze has referred to Klopp as a world-class coach and during a recent interview hinted at a possible reunion with his former manager and mentor. With the Nabil Fekir transfer now in serious doubt, Klopp views Gotze as a player he would like to join him at Anfield.
