West Ham Team News

In his pre-match press conference, Irons boss Nuno Espirito Santo said Adama Traore is a doubt for the weekend, but that ‘the rest are ok’, meaning he has almost a full squad to call upon.

Following the Tottenham score during the game, he said: “Everybody is going to be aware of what is happening in the other stadium. What I hope is that our players ignore what is coming out and focus on the tasks inside the pitch.”

When asked if this was the biggest game of his career, Nuno said: “Probably, yes. A tough one. Leeds did a very good season. They have quality players who require the best of us.”

Regarding the future, the Portuguese said: “Our future is Sunday. After that we will assess everything that we have to assess.

“We have to improve, and we didn’t perform well, so we have to bounce back.”

On his message to the West Ham fans: “Be there from the first minute, and then it is up to us that the support continues.”

Leeds boss Daniel Farke confirmed in his press conference that Noah Okafor, Gabriel Gudmundsson, and Ilia Gruev will all miss Sunday’s game.

The Whites will also be without Anton Stach, although Farke said the midfielder’s injury was not major and he ‘just needs to be stitched.’

Sean Longstaff is out following a hernia surgery, whilst Pascal Struijk and Jayden Bogle are both back in training and could feature against the Hammers.

On avoiding relegation, the German said: “We work at the moment with a smile on our face that’s for sure. Of course, when it was confirmed two games ago, there was a big relief and big joy.

“We had some time between games to celebrate.”

He added: “We enjoyed the moment, but as professional footballers, coaching staff members and as a manager you are also drilled to be competitive and this is what I feel this week.”
