Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up as Oxford United Travel to Stoke

Oxford United will be looking to continue their good form against the top teams when the U’s travel to Stoke on Wednesday night.

Matt Bloomfield’s side have played out goalless draws on the road at Coventry and Middlesbrough in recent weeks and could face another tough test at the Bet365 Stadium this week.

However, Stoke are currently without a league win in seven and needed an 89th-minute equaliser in their last game against Gary Rowett’s Leicester City. The Potters have also failed to win in their last six home games, losing three. Like Oxford, Stoke gave just one win in eight. The U’s have failed to score in six of those eight games, finding the net just three times.

Michal Helik returned to the bench against Boro but Bloomfield lost Brodie Spencer and Jamie McDonnell at the Riverside.

Stoke are without Divin Muamba, Junior Tchamadeu, Robert Bozenik, Sam Gallagher and the goalkeeping duo, Gavin Bazunu and Viktor Johansson. Lewis Baker could make a return from an ankle injury.

Stoke comfortably won the reverse fixture at Grenoble Road but the U’s played out a goalless draw on the road against the Potters last season.

Matt Bloomfield has only faced Stoke once and his Luton side earned a point on the road last season. That was also his only meeting against a Mark Robins side.
