Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up

Chris Wilder’s side have had an upturn in form since his reappointment but they’ve been inconsistent in recent weeks. The Blades drew at Millwall last time out having beaten Ipswich previously. However, they have suffered back to back defeats at Southampton and Charlton, respectively, and also got dumped out of the FA Cup with defeat at home against Mansfield.

They’ve struggled on the road in recent weeks but Bramall Lane is where the majority of points have come. The Blades are unbeaten in their last seven home league games, winning five.

Oxford were dealt a double injury blow ahead of their game against Birmingham with Jack Currie and Brian De Keersmaecker missing out. New signing Jeon Jin-woo also missed the game with concussion and joins Tyler Goodrham, Hidde ter Avest, Nik Prelec and Jamie Donley on the sidelines.

However, Bloomfield did welcome back Polish duo, Michal Helik and Przemyslaw Placheta. The U’s could hand a debut to defender Christmas Makosso, who joined ahead of the Birmingham fixture.

Sheffield United are without Jairo Riedewald, Sam McCallum and Tom Davies but welcome back Djibril Soumare, Japhet Tanganga and Patrick Bamford from suspension.

Oxford lost the reverse fixture at Grenoble Road in what was Wilder’s first game since returning to the club. The U’s lost on their last visit to Bramall Lane and have suffered defeats in seven of the last eight meetings.
