Last time out, Leicester City yet again failed to see out a game and fell to a late defeat in the Championship. After an excellent first half, the Foxes couldn’t maintain their high performance levels, and eventually crumbled. This is nothing new for supporters this season, as Marti Cifuentes’ side are yet to really dominate a game, or put in a consistent 90 minute performance. Regardless, the league remains the focus as City surprisingly remains seven points off the play-off positions. Therefore, here is the Leicester Predicted Lineup as they travel to Wrexham for the first time since 1982.

How Leicester City Have Lined Up Recently
Against Coventry, Marti Cifuentes made several changes from the youthful F.A Cup squad. The first change came in between the sticks as Asmir Begovic made way for first-choice shot stopper Jakub Stolarczyk. At centre-back, Jannik Vestergaard was also replaced by Caleb Okoli, whilst Ben Nelson remained integral to the backline. At full-back, Luke Thomas made consecutive starts, and on the right Ricardo Periera replaced Bade Aluko.
In midfield, Oliver Skipp accommodated Jordan James, which has become a centre-piece of Leicester’s midfield in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Bobby Decordav Reid was more advanced in the number 10 position and let many chances go begging against the Sky Blues. Out wide, Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavdidi failed to be the difference makers, which isn’t unfamiliar this season, given their struggles. To cap off the eleven, Jordan Ayew led the line, although he made way for Patson Daka after 70 minutes due to the need to find a goal.
Leicester City’s Recent Form And Tactics
In terms of the game, Leicester took control from the off and remarkably had the better chances. A higher expected goal tally, four more shots on target and a big chance, which led to the opener. The rapid transitions were working incredibly well, as Coventry continued to push players forward and not leave a strong rest defence. This led to James’ goal as Ftaawu was found in space and could pick out Reid, who combined excellently with James to put him through on goal. From there, the Welshman was always going to find the net, which has now put his numbers up to nine goals and three assists.

Even after this, the visitors continued to threaten, and should have doubled their lead. Perhaps the biggest opportunity came for Reid, as the Jamaican scuffed his shot, following brilliant play, where Leicester played through the block with ease. However, nothing came off the chances, and much like the last time the two sides met in Coventry, it all went downhill. Within two minutes of the second half starting, the home side already found the equaliser.
Jack Rudoni was left way too much time and space on the edge of the box and guided the ball into the bottom left corner, which was helped in by the deflection off Ellis Simms. The misery didn’t stop there as Romain Esse hit the post, and Fatawu chose wrong with close range effort barely troubling Carl Rushworth. With the game tied up, a moment of madness was necessary for either side. Of course, that came the other way, as Thomas embarrassingly fell to the floor and allowed Tatsuhiro Sakamoto to strike across the goal, an effort met by Haji Wright.
Leicester City Team News
As confirmed by Cifuentes, absences are an expectation heading into the trip to North Wales. Long-term absentees include Victor Kristiansen, Aaron Ramsey and Harry Souttar, a trio out for much of the campaign. With both Boubakary Soumare and Jannik Vestergaard back from injury, Cifuentes has many options heading into his selection at the Racecourse Ground.
