Liverpool Confirm Summer Departure for Club 'Legend' - Andy Robertson

Liverpool Legend Names a ‘Good Way Around’ Alexander Isak Injury

On December 20, at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Liverpool recorded a much-needed 2-1 victory over Spurs, thanks to goals from Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike. When scoring the opening goal, half-time substitute Isak, a replacement for Conor Bradley, converted an assist from fellow summer signing Florian Wirtz.

A sliding challenge on the £125million Swedish striker from Micky van de Ven left him in pain and unable to celebrate with his teammates. The injury forced him off the pitch and to be replaced by Jeremie Frimpong. Isak’s goal was only his third in all competitions since moving to Anfield, and to receive the suspected leg break after scoring is horrendous luck for the player. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has given his view and named a player that he believes would be a “good way around” the injury to Isak.

Antoine Semenyo Named as Possible Solution to Isak Injury

Discussing how Liverpool could deal with Alexander Isak’s injury:

“One thing is for certain now, Mo Salah will be staying at the club. I think there’s a good chance Harvey Elliott would come back from Aston Villa as well.

“Whether Liverpool go for a striker or another attacking player like Semenyo, who Liverpool have been heavily linked with as well, I think we all know he’s got a buyout clause in January.

“Then you’ve got wide players, as in Salah and Gakpo, who’ve played a lot of games through the middle as well. You’ve got young Jayden Danns.

“But I think that’s the way they could go around it because I don’t think Liverpool, when you go back a few years, when they had a real problem at centre-back, they didn’t go and spend big money on someone they didn’t want.

“So they won’t go out and buy a striker who they don’t really want. So if they do want Semenyo, I think that’s probably a good way around it.”

What Should Arne Slot do Next?

Despite Isak’s slow start to life on Anfield, it’s a big blow for Arne Slot’s team. Does he have the solutions in his squad, or should he enter the January transfer window, and is Antoine Semenyo the answer, with eight goals in 17 games in all competitions for Bournemouth?
