Alexander Isak Injury Blow: David Ornstein Reveals Scans Set to Confirm Fears

Liverpool were in the midst of a terrible run of form, but appear to be turning a corner, with three wins in a row in all competitions, including a 2-1 victory against Tottenham. Alexander Isak scored only his second Premier League goal since signing from Newcastle in the summer for £125million. David Ornstein of The Athletic is reporting that Liverpool fear their Swedish striker broke his leg in the act of scoring the opening goal at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Isak Hit by Huge Injury Setback

David Ornstein has revealed that struggling Swedish striker Isak is set for a significant spell on the sidelines from a suspected leg break, which he sustained from a challenge in his team’s 2-1 win.

Liverpool have yet to issue any official confirmation, but Ornstein reports that the scans are set to confirm fears that the striker is set to spend a few months on the sidelines, recovering.

Isak was a half-time replacement for Conor Bradley and quickly made an impact, converting an assist from fellow summer signing Florian Wirtz. A sliding challenge from Micky van de Ven left the striker in pain and unable to celebrate with his teammates. He ultimately left the field and was replaced by Jeremie Frimpong.

Liverpool Suffer Setback Due to Isak Injury

Isak joined Liverpool in the summer from Premier League rivals Newcastle and has found life tough at Anfield, with the Spurs goal, just his third in all competitions. Fellow summer-signing Hugo Ekitike has settled quicker than his teammate.
