Here are the confirmed lineups for both Liverpool and Sunderland ahead of their Premier League clash at 8:15 pm GMT today.
Despite winning at the weekend, Liverpool are on a poor run of results and currently sit eighth in the table. Their last two home games have seen the current champions of England concede seven goals against Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven. Sunderland are the surprise package of this Premier League campaign, and following their home win against Bournemouth in which they came from two goals behind to win, are in sixth place. A win at Anfield could take them into the top three.

Liverpool Injury and Team News
Conor Bradley: Missed the win against West Ham but has returned to light training; however, this game will come too soon for the full back.
Jeremie Frimpong: Likely to miss at least the next two games but is expected back in training next week.
Sunderland Injury and Team News
Dennis Cirkin: Has not featured at all this season due to injury. However, he is close to returning after playing twice for the U21s of late. Will not be involved today having played a full game on Monday.
Habib Diarra: Out due to a groin injury sustained against Aston Villa in September. Expected back this month and could be available for the derby clash against Newcastle. However, it is a race against time.
Leo Hjelde: Still building up his match fitness and like Dennis Cirkin, played for the U21s on Monday. Is available but unlikely to be needed or risked
Aje Alese: Out. Missing since January, but has returned to training.

Regis Le Bris: “A Great Honour”
Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris spoke ahead of the trip to Anfield. He said: “We worked hard to have the privilege to play this kind of game. It’s a great honour to be in that position, especially through a positive dynamic. Challenging situation, tough game, but we want to live these kinds of experiences.”
On playing at Anfield. “It’s another game in a really special place. But our players, even if we have a young team, now have the good experience, and they want to be competitive because otherwise you will be a spectator, and we don’t want to be a spectator.
“Liverpool will be strong. The place is impressive, but at the same time, we want to be competitive. So, we’ll see. They were strong against West Ham and dominant, as expected. We’ll have to show the best version of Sunderland to be competitive.”
Arne Slot Wants His Team to Keep Fighting
Speaking ahead of the home game against Sunderland, Liverpool boss Arne Slot spoke about what he wants to see from his team. He said: “I want to see a team that is fighting to the end – that is the only influence I have got. We have spoken about that.
“I said this last week, after the 3-0 against Forest, I didn’t see it. In the 4-1 against PSV, we were still trying, but not in the right way as before. The only influence I have – and for us – is to keep fighting, keep believing in ourselves. If we do that, maybe the fans they will stay.”
