Wolves Sack Vítor Pereira After Record Breaking Poor Run of Form

Wolverhampton Wanderers have parted ways with head coach Vítor Pereira, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on X. The decision was made following Wolves’ 3-0 loss to Fulham, which ended the Portuguese manager’s 11-month tenure in charge of the West Midlands club. Further confirmation came from Ben Jacobs and John Percy of The Telegraph.

Pereira was appointed last December to replace Gary O’Neil and successfully guided the club to safety. However, results have declined dramatically since the start of the new campaign.

Wolves have failed to win any of their opening ten league games, making them the only team in Premier League history to go winless in their first ten games in consecutive seasons. It also represents Wolves’ worst start to any season in the club’s history, leaving them adrift at the bottom of the league. The decision to hand Pereira a new three-year contract following five straight defeats in the league now looks even more absurd following the decision to sack him.

Despite the optimism surrounding Pereira’s appointment and the positive atmosphere in the City of Wolverhampton, Pereira’s tenure has been marred by tactical confusion and inconsistency. The team’s frequent changes in formation and lack of attacking identity have frustrated fans, while defensive lapses have cost crucial points.

His inability to establish a clear system or consistent starting lineup has ultimately eroded confidence among both players and fans.
