Liam Delap
Probably the more surprising note is the manager’s update on striker Liam Delap who got injured early in the campaign. The former Ipswich marksman went down with a muscular problem and hasn’t been factored into the squad ever since. Despite that, Maresca had a promising message about the attacker.

According to the Italian coach, Delap is still out but will hopefully be able to return to training soon. A return to training could see the forward become available during the busy December run of fixtures to further ease the growing pressure on Joao Pedro who has been left to play a lot of minutes, usually isolated due to the absence of Cole Palmer.
