Bayern Munich Predicted Lineup vs RB Leipzig for August 22

This is the Bayern Munich predicted lineup for their return to Bundesliga action. The holders will take on a depleted RB Leipzig side who lost frontman Benjamin Sesko over the summer. With the Bavarians refining their squad a bit, they’ll be hoping to make a statement with a big win over Leipzig to start their season off on the right note.

How Bayern Munich Have Lined Up Recently

Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmick is the main pivot in the defensive midfield positions. Newcomer Luis Diaz started and scored on the left, Michael Olise moved centrally, Serge Gnabry played on the right wing, with Harry Kane predictably leading the line.

Bayern Munich Recent Form & Tactics

Vincent Kompany has remained loyal to the 4-2-3-1 setup that Bayern have used for most of their recent history. It is designed to control the ball but against Stuttgart that didn’t work too well, as they managed just 53% of the possession. They still managed to get the win but it showed some flaws in their ideology.

After crashing out of the Club World Cup to PSG in rather meek fashion, the Bavarians have been back on track in pre-season, beating Tottenham by four goals and then lifting the Supercup. The current Bundesliga champions have momentum on their side coming into this one.

Bayern Munich Injuries to Consider

Per Sofascore, there are a number of absentees which could provide some headaches for Kompany. Alphonso Davies remains sidelined with Hirooki Ito, Jamal Musiala, and Aleksander Pavlovic. Laimer is a doubt for this one as is Paul Wanner. Tom Bischoff has most recently been ruled out for the foreseeable future.
