Chelsea are continuing to make moves in the summer transfer window having already welcomed Liam Delpa, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens as well as finally getting their hands on Estevao now that he’s 18. This hasn’t stopped them from pursuing a Dutch talent whose agent has now confirmed interest from the World Champions.
Agent Confirms Chelsea Talks For Dutch Prospect
Talks Are Underway
The representative of young Ajax defender Jorrel Hato has noted that “Jorrel is now talking” to the side to hash out details of a move. The Blues will be working to see if the player will agree to fall under their current wage structure before making contact with Ajax to agree on a fee for the versatile defender.

While this is a move that’s been mentioned offhand it appears that the Premier League side are now looking to add to their defensive reinforcements with the Dutch youngster who can fill in either as a left-back or a left centre-back depending on the setup.
Who Is Jorrel Hato?
After making his way through Jong Ajax, the 19-year-old became a first team player in 2023. He’s been known in football circles as a top prospect with Fabrizio Romano on record calling him a “generational talent” when discussing links to Arsenal earlier this year.

He’s already been capped six times by the national team and racked up 111 appearances across all comepetitions for the Eredivisie team, splitting those between a full-back role and a standard centre-back. He’s gained experience playing in major European competitions which will come in handy in a young Blues unit.
What will hopefully translate to England is his passing ability. He’s got a pass completion rate of just a hair under 90% on 60 passes per game, he doesn’t carry the ball as much which will require some work from his partners in defense but he does offer an aerial presence to make up for it.
