Newcastle Pushing to Sign ‘Special’ Talent – Offer Submitted

Newcastle United enjoyed a memorable 2024/25 season under the guidance of Eddie Howe. They finished fifth in the Premier League, thus qualifying for the Champions League and defeated Liverpool 2-1 to win the EFL Cup. In preparation for the upcoming campaign, Fabrizio Romano has reported that the club have submitted a £55 million bid to Nottingham Forest for Anthony Elanga.

Newcastle Look to Strengthen Ahead of Champions League Return

Newcastle United Submit Bid for Anthony Elanga

Newcastle will be eager to improve on the impressive 2024/25 campaign and will also have the chance to showcase their ability in Europe next season. Despite the talent already in the squad, Eddie Howe is expected to strengthen ahead of their Champions League return, and it appears the club are targeting Elanga to help with those needed improvements.

Romano’s exclusive update reveals that the Geordies have submitted a £55 million bid to Forest for Elanga, who has previously been described as “Special.” Newcastle are now pushing to finalise the deal, especially after missing out on Joao Pedro, who joined Chelsea.

What Qualities Elanga Would Bring

Anthony Elanga is known for his pace and directness, and he would add another dimension to an already dangerous Newcastle United attack. Comfortable cutting in from either flank, he can be a nightmare for defenders to mark.

When in full flow with the ball at his feet, Elanga is exciting to watch and could quickly become a fan favourite at St James’ Park. His ability to play on both wings and as a central striker is sure to appeal to Howe. At the City Ground, he has made 82 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 21 assists.

At 23 years old, there is room for improvement, but Elanga already has the ability to excite everyone associated with Newcastle United. This could prove to be a great signing, should they complete the deal.
