Following on from Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s departure from Leicester City a new manager needs to be identified. Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Röhl has been one of the favourites this past week due to his success over the past two years. The German kept his side in the second tier and showed signs of progression as they finished 12th most recently.

Danny Röhl: Set For a Fresh Start
As reported by Joe Bernstein, Röhl is on the verge of leaving the Owls. He has recently told senior players at the club that he’s leaving after almost two years in Yorkshire. It is no secret that Rohl also hasn’t returned to pre-season training, which further confirms the exit.

Bernstein also adds that the Foxes have already held talks with their fellow Championship side over a compensation package. This is an area of contention as the East Midlands outfit has already sacked two managers over the past eight months. Furthermore, links also suggest Röhl is a target for Premier League side Brentford as an assistant to new figurehead, Keith Andrews.
How Does This Affect Leicester City?
Pre-season has begun this morning with club legend Andy King and the current fitness staff taking the reins. With the first friendly taking place later this week with Peterborough United, installing a new manager and coaching staff will be the top priority.

Due to his pedigree within Europe, it comes as no surprise that Rohl is a target. The 36-year-old is a high-potential option, whilst also having key experience with the likes of Hansi Flick and Julian Nagelsmann.
In addition to this, he has also shown he can be effective under pressure. Wednesday has had their own problems this past season, with a lack of investment, unpaid staff and clashes with the ownership. Therefore, with the Foxes going through their turmoil, it looks like Röhl could be the answer.
