It appears Moyes is looking to strengthen this summer with Sky Sports reporting that the Merseyside club now targeting Villarreal forward Thierno Barry.

The update from lan Myers and Rob Dorsett confirms reports from various other outlets regarding Everton’s interest in Thierno Barry. Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract is due to expire on June 30, and it remains to be seen if he will commit his future or seek a move elsewhere.

Barry impressed last season in La Liga for Villarreal, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in a good breakthrough season. At 22-years-old, the upside to the Frenchman is considerable.

An earlier report from Matteo Moretto confirmed: “Everton is chasing Villarreal striker Thierno Barry. The English club is reportedly willing to pay the €40 million buyout clause. Evaluations are ongoing and no final decision has yet been made.”
The French striker began his professional career with Sochaux B, where he showed a keen eye for goal, attracting interest from the Premier League and across the rest of Europe.
