Rob Sanchez starts in goal behind a back line of Marc Cucurella, Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill, and Reece James. Moises Caicedo partners Romeo Lavia in a rarely seen midfield partnership. Cole Palmer plays through the middle with Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke out wide. Nicolas Jackson leads the line as the striker.
Notable Changes
It’s a strong lineup from the Blues boss with the only real surprise being Caicedo and Lavia in midfield together. How this configuration works could be the real focus of the match as they could be the defensive pivot alone with Cucurella or James inverting to the ten space, or it will be a midfield three with Palmer and another box-runner in front of a sitter. It’s more likely to fall in line with the 3-2-4-1 used for most of the season but could certainly feature some tweaks.
Tosin getting the nod to partner Colwill indicates that he’s supplanted Trevoh Chalobah as the main choice as the CB partner while Wesley Fofana recovers from injury.
