‘Verbal Agreement Done’: Real Madrid Set to Secure Blockbuster Transfer for £180K-P/W Star

Romano has given his “here we go” to confirm that the English centre-back will be joining the La Liga heavyweights after the 2024/25 season. This comes after Liverpool confirmed that their experienced defender would be leaving the club once his contract expires at the end of June (2025).

The journalist also confirms that documents are now being prepared by Real Madrid for the finalization of the transfer. It’s stated that he will be signing a five-year contract until the end of June (2030) with the club. Romano confirms that “verbal agreement done” between the Spanish heavyweights and the right-back’s representatives for him to join them as a free agent before the beginning of the 2025/26 season. Real Madrid have been strongly linked with the defender for a long time and now seem to have finally sealed the deal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold Issues Emotional Response to Liverpool Exit

The 26-year-old defender has issued a message to the Liverpool fans after confirming his exit, as he wrote on his Instagram: “After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, now is the time for me to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season. This is easily the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my life. I know many of you have wondered why or been frustrated that I haven’t spoken about this yet, but it was always my intention to keep my full focus on the team’s best interests, which was securing No.20. This club has been my whole life – my whole world – for 20 years. From the Academy right through until now, the support and love I have felt from everyone inside and outside of the club will stay with me forever. I will forever be in debt to you all.

“But, I have never known anything else and this decision is about experiencing a new challenge, taking myself out of my comfort zone and pushing myself both professionally and personally. Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is rumoured to be receiving £180,000-a-week wages at Liverpool, is poised to leave the 2024/25 Premier League champions after having made 352 appearances for them so far, in which he’s scored 23 goals and provided 92 assists in all competitions. He will be leaving as a two-time Premier League winner after also winning the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup with the club.
