Frankfurt Team News Leak is Not the First
Postecoglou was quizzed by the press over Wilson Odobert’s fitness after he was an unused sub against Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek, with a leaked report suggesting he had suffered a hamstring injury.
But the Spurs boss denied there was any issue with the 20-year-old’s fitness.
This then prompted another question from the press about team news leaks which is when Postecoglou revealed there is a suspected leak at the club.
He said: “There is no doubt we’ve got a leak inside the club. Someone continues to leak out information and they have all year. I don’t know why as it just makes our job even more difficult. It doesn’t help us as you don’t want to give the opposition a helping hand.
“We’ve narrowed it down. I’ve got a fair idea where it’s coming from. We will deal with it.
“It certainly doesn’t help us on game days. It’s sometimes half-truths and sometimes more. You’d like to think that everyone within our camp is working with us rather than against us.”

The Impact of Tottenham Hotspur Team News Leaks
Spurs’ season has been a struggle, with the North London side losing 16 Premier League matches, crashing out of both domestic cups and with the Europa League as their last hope of both silverware and European qualification for next season.
The most obvious issue with the leak is the danger of tactics and personnel being leaked to the opposition. While there is a certain element of scouting and gathering knowledge on the opposition, being handed key information about injuries before any official announcement is made can give an advantage if it is released early as it allows the other team to prepare in a certain way.
But the other danger is reflected in Postecoglou’s quote about everyone working together, not against each other at the club. Depending on where exactly this leak is coming from could be very problematic in terms of how everyone in the club supports the manager and the team to achieve its goals.
Tottenham will no doubt want to deal with the source as they approach the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals. With the tie on a knife edge at 1-1, Spurs will need to pull together to get a result in Frankfurt.
