West Ham Predicted Lineup vs Wolves

How West Ham Have Lined Up Recently

Potter, much like his predecessor Julen Lopetegui who managed Wolves before his short spell in charge of the Hammers, has been experimental with his team selections, residing to a 5-3-2 in their last match.

Alphonse Areola retains his place as the Hammers’ first-choice goalkeeper. In his last four matches, he has conceded an average of 0.5 goals. Łukasz Fabiański had also stepped in this season until he sustained a back injury in a 1-0 away win against Southampton.

Potter has consistently played a back five with two wing-backs, with Oliver Scarles who has replaced Emerson in recent matches at left-wing back and Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-wing back. The centre-back trio is made up of Max Kilman, who Lopetegui signed from Wolves in the summer, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Jean-Clair Todibo.

The midfield three in the win against Leicester City and loss to Newcastle was made up of Tomáš Souček, Edson Alvarez and former Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse. Guido Rodriguez is yet to feature for Potter, albeit Lucas Paqueta has also made appearances in midfield as opposed to the front three.

Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus have played on the wings but more recently as an upfront partnership with Crysencio Summerville slotting in when his side has suspensions or injuries. Paqueta or Carlos Soler play as the attacking midfielder between the wingers. Niklas Fullkrug last started in the FA Cup against Villa but was subbed off due to yet another injury as discussed below.

West Ham Recent Form

Since taking charge of the Hammers, Potter’s form has been inconsistent, to say the least. In their last five games, his side have won twice, with the back-to-back wins coming against a title-challenging Arsenal side and a Leicester City side almost certainly getting relegated at the end of the season.

The two games since then were a 1-0 defeat at home to Newcastle United, which was followed by a 1-1 draw against Everton who are now managed by former Hammers boss David Moyes. The latter match was very even which saw Everton rescue a point in the 91st minute thanks to a header from Jake O’Brien.

West Ham Injuries to Consider

Potter will have only three injuries to take into account when choosing his team selection for this evening against Pereira’s side. Fullkrug, who was signed from Borussia Dortmund after the Euros, is sidelined again with a hamstring injury, with his return expected at the end of the month.

Summerville is not expected to return until early May from a hamstring injury with Michail Antonio not expected to return until the end of the season after breaking his leg.
