It has been reported by The Times that Southampton are gearing up to fight to keep a hold of the Englishman beyond the 2025 summer transfer window. It’s claimed that along with the Red Devils, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have also shown an interest in potentially making a move for Dibling.

However, it’s claimed that the Saints are not going to let him go that easily and that they will be pricing him similar to what England regulars like Harry Kane or Declan Rice were sold for in recent years. Indeed, the report claims that Southampton values Dibling at around £100 million and will not let him leave for anything cheap in the summer.
Even though the 20th-place side are under threat of being relegated at the end of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, the Saints won’t let the 19-year-old leave easily as they know he’s contracted with them until the end of June, 2027.
Can Dibling Prove To Be An Ideal Alejandro Garncho Replacement At Old Trafford?
Manchester United are going to shuffle up their squad in the summer, with rumoured exits planned for players like Christian Eriksen, whose contracts expire after the campaign ends. It has also been reported that they could be open to selling young winger Alejandro Garnacho for the right price. If that actually ends up happening, then they might push for someone like Dibling as a direct replacement.
Of course, Garnacho has more goals (8) than the Englishman (4) across all competitions. However, the 19-year-old English player is definitely a more versatile asset. Dibling has mostly played as a right-winger for Southampton, but he can also play in central positions and even as a centre-forward if necessary. Garnacho’s best role, however, is on the left wing, and he’s had mixed effects on the right side.

Dibling has managed higher successful take-ons (2.34 per game) and tackles (1.75 per game) than the Argentine winger, being proactive with his movement to get into the danger areas well and swinging in inviting crosses. The 19-year-old Southampton winger, who was hailed as their “most impressive” player in the 3-1 loss to Arsenal earlier in the 2024/25 season, could bring a more varied skillset to the Manchester United squad if they’re able to sign him up.
