Spurs look to respond to two disappointing defeats when they welcome Bournemouth to London at 2 pm on March 9. Ange Postecoglou’s side looked toothless against AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of their Europa League R9und of 16 clash. Here is our Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup as The Lilywhites look for revenge against The Cherries.
Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Bournemouth For March 9
How Tottenham Hotspur Have Lined Up Recently
Tottenham have Guglielmo Vicario to thank for the scoreline against AZ Alkmaar, which is still reversible in the second leg. The Italian goalkeeper made three saves from close range as the hosts exploited holes in the Spurs’ defence.
Kevin Danso was impressive, winning all six of his aerial duels. He should receive some more senior help at the heart of Spurs’s defence with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven returning to the bench against AZ. Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence were the chosen full-backs in midweek as Postecoglou continues to rotate between the pair and Pedro Porro.

19-year-old Lucas Bergvall’s unfortunate own goal shouldn’t over shadow the improvement the midfielder has made throughout the season. He’s been keeping more senior midfielders Yves Bissouma and Pepe Matar Sarr on the bench. However, The Lilywhites midfield still looked like it could use a bit more physicality and changes may come against Bournemouth.
After going scoreless in their last two matches, they need some changes in attack. Mathys Tel has not hit the ground running in London, scoring just one goal in six appearances and Postecoglou will likely choose someone else to lead the line this weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Recent Form and Tactics
Tottenham can’t seem to find any consistency at the moment. Their current form resembles the Spurs side we saw before their injury bug hit in December and they were just consistently terrible. Big wins are followed by equally big losses and momentum has been impossible for the Lilywhites to build. Postecoglou will hope that a big win over Bournemouth inspires his side to turn around their Europa League Round of 16 tie against AZ in the second leg next week.

Despite mixed results, Spurs have stuck to their 4-3-3 formation throughout the season. Without Richarlison and Solanke, there may need to be a tactical change up front. New signing Tel is struggling to get involved in games using the current setup.
Injuries and Suspensions to Consider
Starman Dejan Kulusevski is unlikely to return before the international break with a foot problem. Dominic Solanke was taken off 20 minutes after returning from a knee problem after taking a knee to his rear. The striker will undergo a late fitness test for the Bournemouth game. Ben Davies will also have his fitness tested to see if he can play against The Cherries.
Richarlison (calf) and Radu Dragusin (knee) remain on an injury list made significantly smaller by the return of Van de Ven and Romero to the bench against AZ. The pair could both make a return against Bournemouth but are unlikely to start together.
