Burnley vs Wolves: General view of the Turf Moor Stadium

Team News, Form and Prediction as Oxford United Travel to Burnley

Oxford United face a difficult test at keeping their unbeaten run going when Gary Rowett’s side visit Burnley on Tuesday night.

The U’s are without a loss in nine league games after a 1-1 draw at home against Bristol City last time out.

That result ended Oxford’s winning run at home, having picked up maximum points in their previous four at Grenoble Road. The away form has picked up, too, with three draws and a victory on the road under Rowett.

Speaking of unbeaten runs, Burnley are also in fine form having failed to lose in their last 18 games in all competitions. In fact, Scott Parker’s side have suffered just one defeat in their last 28 matches. During that run, they have also kept 20 clean sheets and conceded just nine goals in 30 league fixtures. The Clarets are also unbeaten at home in all 14 Championship fixtures, with six wins and eight draws.

Elliott Moore and recent signing Stan Mills are both absent for this game, while Joe Bennett is close to a return.

The Clarets are without Aaron Ramsey, Jordan Beyer, Enock Agyei and Nathan Redmond, but Manuel Benson made a return to the bench for the goalless draw at Portsmouth.

So far, Oxford have made five new additions during the January transfer window, with the arrivals of Ole Romeny, Tom Bradshaw, Michal Helik, Stan Mills and Alex Matos.

Scott Parker has brought in Oliver Sonne, Ashley Barnes and Jonjo Shelvey.

Unsurprisingly given it’s a popular result for the Clarets, the reverse fixture ended goalless at Grenoble Road. That was the first meeting between the two sides since the 1999/2000 season when Burnley did the double over the U’s.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Greg Leigh, Ciaron Brown, Michal Helik, Peter Kioso, Will Vaulks, Cameron Brannagan, Siriki Dembele, Tyler Goodrham, Przemyslaw Placheta, Tom Bradshaw.

Prediction: Burnley 0-0 Oxford United
