Leicester City Predicted Lineup Vs Fulham for January 18

After a midweek loss to Crystal Palace, Leicester City made a quick return to the King Power Stadium. Here is the Leicester City predicted lineup as they play host to Fulham.

How Leicester City Have Lined-up Recently

Crystal Palace were the most recent opposition for the Foxes, where an almost identical side was fielded after their 6-2 F A Cup win.

Jakub Stolarczyk remains his side’s shot-stopper with Mads Hermansen still out. A centre-back partnership of Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard was selected for the first time since Cooper has been manager, as Conor Coady was benched. James Justin and Victor Kristiansen then rounded off the backline as full-backs, on the day that the signing of Woyo Coulibaly was announced.

Harry Winks and Boubakary Soumaré started in the double pivot, but Winks was replaced after an hour for Oliver Skipp. Facundo Buonanotte started off the right for the second consecutive game, with Stephy Mavididi on the other side. Through the centre, it was Bilal El Khannouss trying to be a creative spark.

Leading the line was Jamie Vardy, with Patson Daka partnering him after the 66th minute.

Leicester City’s Recent Form and Tactics

A sixth loss in a row marks a torrid time for Van Nistelrooy’s side, who can’t catch a break. It is a defeat that sees them remain in the relegation zone with just 14 points so far.

It was the same side chosen as the 6-2 win against QPR, but they couldn’t replicate any of the glory. A solid first half saw the scoreline level at 0-0, with chances for both sides. With more possession, 11 shots and an XG of 1.05, it would be fair to say that the home side looked much improved.

However, this would all change in the next 45. Jean-Phillipe Mateta scored early on in the second half, to give his side the lead. This would then be doubled by a Marc Guehi volley, with 12 minutes left.

Ultimately, the East-Midlands based side weren’t good enough in both boxes. Defensively, they made it too easy for the visitors and then going forward there was a severe lack of quality as three big chances were missed.

Changes will need to be made before this Fulham game, if they want any chance of staying up. Tactics could be a way in which this side could be improved. The space provided out wide is regularly exploited by the opposition, and is a major issue. With Justin progressing as a winger, he often struggles on transition to work back and then when in the low block, both fullbacks are often too narrow.

Leicester City Injuries to Consider

There are no new injuries for the Foxes this week as revealed in the Dutchman’s press conference. Hermansen still remains sidelined, whilst Wilfred Ndidi and Ricardo Pereira are also out.
