Celtic vs Kilmarnock Predicted Lineup for January 18

It’s a break from the league action for Celtic as they play their first of two major matches. First up, it’s a home tie against Derek McIness’ Kilmarnock. How Celtic Have Lined Up Recently

Against Dundee, Celtic kept the same back four of Alistair Johnson, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Greg Taylor.

However, there was a shake up in midfield with Luke McCowan and Paulo Bernardo starting in front of Callum McGregor.

The front three stayed the same with Yang Idah and Kyogo up top.

Celtic’s Recent Form and Tactics

Celtic’s hectic period of seven games in 21 days came to an end with a disappointing 3-3 draw against Dundee. It was a surprising game which saw some real fragility on the Celtic left-hand side, particularly from Trusty. The American was targeted all evening and did terribly for the hosts third goal. At his height, he should never have found himself bullied so easily.

Up front Yang scored his second goal in Celtic colours with both being headers. Apart from that the South Korean frustrated and rarely took on his man. Moreover, Idah had another anonymous performance up front.

It means Celtic are thirteen points clear at the summit at this stage of the season. It’s still a healthy margin, but considering the control they had in the first half, when the game should have arguably been out of sight, Brendan Rodgers will have been frustrated.

Injuries to Consider

James Forrest is the only man unavailable for the Champions.
