‘Deal Done’: Top Star to Undergo Chelsea Medical Before Completing Move

Chelsea are showing no signs of slowing down in the 2024 summer transfer window and are on the verge of strengthening their attack ahead of the new season. The Blues are said to be close to completing the move to sign Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea To Book Medical for Samu Omorodion

How Much Will Chelsea Pay for Omorodion?

Fabrizio Romano has said that the Blues are planning to book a medical for the 20-year-old, which will take place in Paris. It has already been reported that the London heavyweights have agreed a deal to sign the Spanish forward from Diego Simeone’s side. The journalist insists that the “deal [is] done”.

Romano states that Chelsea have agreed to pay a fee of around £34.5 million for Omorodion with a seven-year contract (until 2031), subject to medical. The journalist has mentioned that many other clubs, such as reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, tried to sign the young forward only to lose out to the Blues.

When Could Omorodion Start Playing for Chelsea?

As it stands, the young forward will become Chelsea’s 10th signing of the summer. They only recently unveiled the signing of Argentine defender Aaron Anselmino, who will be joining them in 2025. This is similar to their signing of Brazilian young sensation Estevao Willian, who joins them next year. Apart from this, Chelsea have made a plethora of signings including new goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, defender Tosin Adarabioyo and midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to improve Enzo Maresca’s senior squad.

Omorodion was hailed to have the potential to become a “really top player” by Alavaes head coach Luis Garcia after spending last season on loan with the Spanish club, scoring 10 La Liga goals. If the club are able to get the deal done quickly, then Omorodion could make his official debut in Chelsea’s first match of the 2024/25 Premier League season against Manchester City on August 18.
