Fabrizio Romano has reported that the London heavyweights have insisted that there are no plans to send the Belgian forward on loan for the third successive term. This comes after he has spent the last two on loan in Italy, first with Inter Milan before his short stay at AS Roma in the 2023/24 campaign.
The journalist adds that Chelsea are aware of Napoli’s interest in signing the 31-year-old, with Antonio Conte taking over as their new head coach. Romano also adds that “initial approaches took place” between the two clubs over a potential transfer that can be sealed in the summer window. The journalist also states that there is a £38 million exit clause inserted into Lukaku’s contract.

At this point, it appears likely that Lukaku will finally be sold after two loan stints. However, he is unlikely to be the only Blues player who is going to be sold in the summer. Aston Villa are reported to be interested in signing midfielder Conor Gallagher.

However, they are going to focus on selling Lukaku because the 31-year-old forward has no future at Stamford Bridge under Maresca.
