How Bayern Munich Have Lined Up Recently

The German record champions faced major selection problems in last week’s encounter with VfL Wolfsburg. Those issues have gotten worse ahead of the final match of the season, as we will get to later on.

The Bavarians started with Manuel Neuer in goal. Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies began on the flanks, while Min-jae Kim as well as Dayot Upamecano played in the centre-back positions. Leon Goretzka and Aleksandar Pavlovic played in the holding midfield roles. Lastly, the front four were completely new with Bryan Zaragoza, Thomas Müller, the 19-year-old starting debutant Lovro Zvonarek along with Mathys Tel.

That means that coach Thomas Tuchel made a grand total of eight changes, compared to the side that lost the Champions League semifinal in Madrid. Upamecano, Kim, Davies, Goretzka, Zaragoza, Müller, Zvonarek and Tel replaced Eric Dier, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Konrad Laimer, Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane.

Bayern Munich Recent Form and Tactics

Bayern Munich Injuries to Consider

Tuchel named a list full of players, when asked during the pre-match press conference about who would miss the Hoffenheim match because of injury. That sums up the main curse of this season for Bayern, along with the fact that Leverkusen simply refused to lose as the coach put it.

Now to the list: Kane, Sané, as well as Musiala are out, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is out due to illness. Kim was injured in the last match. Kingsley Coman is injured as well. Sacha Boey is fit, but away due to a personal matter, while Raphael Guerreiro and Serge Gnabry are still sidelined too.
