How Bayern Munich Have Lined Up Recently

Even though some key attacking players were either rested or injured last week, the Bavarians still managed to deliver, particularly in front of goal last time out against Union Berlin. They started the match with Manuel Neuer in goal. Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies started on the flanks, as Eric Dier played centre-back alongside Min-jae Kim. Meanwhile, Leon Goretzka and Aleksandar Pavlovic paired up as holding midfielders. Lastly, Mathys Tel, Thomas Müller, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Harry Kane made up the front four.

Tuchel made six changes from the victory against Arsenal to that in Berlin. Davies, Kim and Pavlovic joined the entirely new trio behind Kane, Tel, Müller and Choupo-Moting. Meanwhile, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Konrad Laimer, Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, and Raphael Guerreiro were out of the team. The main reason for these changes was to manage players’ time on the pitch, thus reducing the risk of further injuries.

Bayern Munich Recent Form and Tactics

The side are on a three-match winning streak and a four-match unbeaten run in all competitions. Squad management and rotation in these domestic fixtures will be the key to keeping the side fresh and ready for Real Madrid. Tuchel made clear that his team’s objective is to reach the Champions League final at Wembley.

Bayern will continue playing an offensive interpretation of their 4-2-3-1 formation, although they certainly will adjust their risk-taking based on the opposition they face. This should take nothing away from Frankfurt, who have proven to possess the tools that can hurt Bayern.

Bayern Munich Injuries to Consider

Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman remain on the injury list, as do Sacha Boey and Bouna Sarr. Sané joins them as well, while Dayot Upamecano is questionable.
