How Bayern Munich Have Lined Up Recently

Bayern Munich started their victory over Darmstadt 98 with Manuel Neuer in goal. Joshua Kimmich began again as right back, as Raphael Guerreiro played on the left side of the back four. Eric Dier played alongside Matthijs de Ligt in the centre of defence. Meanwhile, Aleksandar Pavlovic returned to the holding midfield role next to Leon Goretzka. Nothing changed in the front four, with Leroy Sané, Thomas Müller, Jamal Musiala, and Harry Kane getting the start.

That means only two players were changed – compared to the last match. Guerreiro started for Alphonso Davies, and Pavlovic returned from suspension to replace Konrad Laimer. Coach Thomas Tuchel stayed true to his recent idea of making only minimal changes to the lineup when necessary. Bayern Munich Recent Form and Tactics

Bayern have won three games in a row, all with a margin of three goals or more. Yet, it is vital to point out that two of those opponents were strong relegation contenders this season. Despite that and the two-week international break since then, the team are on the right track.

Tactically, little will change the terms of formation. However, there will be a greater focus on defence against Dortmund than against Mainz or Darmstadt.

Bayern Munich Injuries to Consider

In his pre-match remarks to the media, Tuchel confirmed that besides the long-term absence of Bouna Sarr, the team will also miss Neuer, Pavlovic, Guerreiro and the newly reinjured Sacha Boey against Dortmund. Meanwhile, Kingsley Coman will be back in the squad after a longtime absence, assuming nothing bad happens to him before the game.
