How Manchester United Have Lined-up Recently

United have largely employed a 4-2-3-1 formation recently, with André Onana more or less a permanent fixture in goal barring the last game against Newport, in which he was away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon.

In defense, the versatile Diogo Dalot has been a constant presence of late, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka rotating in, depending on which flank the Portuguese is deployed on. Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez returned to fitness and the starting XI against Newport, replacing Wan-Bissaka and Jonny Evans. Raphael Varane has maintained fitness and has been a consistent starter in recent games.

In terms of midfield, the return of Casemiro saw him line up alongside the recent ever-present Kobbie Mainoo against Newport. Whilst the Brazilian was working back to fitness, Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay rotated alongside the young academy graduate.

Concerning the front four, Alejandro Garnacho started on the left wing in the FA Cup due to the absence of Marcus Rashford, with Bruno Fernandes at number 10 and Antony on his favoured right side. With Rashford expected to return against Wolves, expect Garnacho to move to the right should Erik Ten Hag choose to start him over Antony. Rasmus Hojlund has started recent games as the main striker.
