Have Arsenal Secured An Agreement For Zubimendi Move?

Fabrizio Romano has acknowledged reports claiming that the La Liga midfielder is close to striking an agreement to sign for the Gunners in the summer and claims that as per his understanding, nothing has been decided on his future at all. He adds that Zubimendi is one of the midfielders who has been on Arsenal’s transfer wishlist since last year, alongside other midfielders like Everton man Amadou Onana and Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.

The journalist states that it’s still “open” regarding the signing that Mikel Arteta’s side is aiming to make to strengthen their midfield line in the summer. Romano notes that Arsenal are likely to face competition for Zubimendi’s signing, with Bayern Munich and Barcelona both monitoring his situation closely. The Real Sociedad midfielder, however, is happy at his club right now and focused on achieving their objectives this season.

Will Arsenal Sign Anyone Before Winter Transfer Window Ends?

Even though they have been linked to signing a new midfield player in the summer window, a lot of fans are probably wondering if the team intends to strengthen their squad in the winter transfer window. However, Arteta has already reiterated that it would not be realistic to dream of a new striker signing in January and for fans to trust their existing options.

The Gunners don’t seem eager to sign players to strengthen any other areas of the pitch either, for the moment. Arteta’s side could, however, benefit from a proactive, mobile midfielder like Zubimendi, who was called an “extraordinary” player by Barcelona manager Xavi last year. The 24-year-old has made 30 appearances for Real Sociedad this season, scoring four goals and helping them top of their UEFA Champions League group and compete for a top-5 place in La Liga.
