Who is Efekele?

The 19-year-old forward is quite a versatile player in the frontline, being able to play anywhere across the frontline. Even though he is naturally a right-winger, Efekele can also play on the other wing and slot in as a centre-forward if necessary.

He is actually yet to make his Ligue 1 debut for Monaco, but scored 14 appearances in 22 appearances for their U19 side in the 2021/22 season.  The teenager has also made four appearances for France’s U20 side, including his two outings for them at the U-20 FIFA World Cup earlier this year.  Efekele is actually coached by the father of Kylian Mbappe, Wilfred, and his playing style is considered to be “lively and unpredictable”. He signed his first professional deal with Monaco last year.

Are Chelsea Really Interested In Efekele?

Romano has decided to open up about the London heavyweights being linked to a move for the 19-year-old Frenchman and has insisted that he’s not aware of any possible move “at this stage” of the year before the upcoming January transfer window. He also adds that there is nothing concrete to the Blues’ desire to sign him either.

The journalist labels the teenager as a ‘very good and interesting’ talent, but that he is not close to a move to Stamford Bridge right now. Romano claims that it is normal for many top clubs to take part in scouting activity for a player like the AS Monaco winger, who has been hailed as a clone of Kylian Mbappe in the past due to his impressive quality.

Chelsea have their own sister club in French side RC Strasbourg, which was bought by their owners earlier this year. They signed young midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu from Ligue 1 earlier this year, but there doesn’t seem to be any interest in signing Efekele for the time being.
