‘In the Mix’: Club Now Looking at ‘Monster’ 200k-a-Week Star to Replace Wantaway Striker

Tottenham Hotspur are the Favourites to Sign Ansu Fati

Paris Saint-Germain are on the hunt for a new striker this summer with the future of Kylian Mbappe at the club hanging in the balance. Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol is now reporting that the French side are “in the mix” for Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

PSG’s Search For New Striker

Speculation has been rife on a new striker joining PSG this summer, with Manchester United target Rasmus Hojlund reportedly subject to a £43 million bid, whilst several other strikers – including Kane –  have been touted to replace Mbappe.

With the 24-year-old potentially on the way out following the departure of Lionel Messi, it would seem that PSG are actively looking for a marquee signing in attack.

Mbappe has already been the subject of a world record bid of £259 million from Saudi club Al-Hilal, although he “refused” to enter into negotiations with the Gulf state side, and interest from Real Madrid remains strong, with the Spanish club keen to secure the striker on a free transfer next summer.

However, reports have suggested the French captain will be sold this summer as the club do not want to risk losing their top asset for nothing when his contract expires in 2024 and a replacement will need to be found sooner rather than later.

Could Harry Kane Really Move to Paris?

Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy has remained unphased by the noise surrounding Kane’s future at the club, despite the 30-year-old entering the final year of his £200,000 per week contract.

Renowned for his tough negotiating, Levy is not willing to let the striker leave Spurs on the cheap and is even less keen on letting him leave for a Premier League rival. However, a move abroad could be an option.

Bayern Munich have already shown an interest in signing England’s all-time record goal scorer, and now PSG are also considered to be “in the mix” for Kane, according to Solhekol.

The Sky Sports reporter goes on to say that the “monster” striker is on the French club’s list of possible targets but that insiders at the club “have made it clear they will not be drawn into a bidding war”.

The report also suggests that the relationship between the Parisian club’s owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Levy is one of “mutual respect” but that they will only act if there are “signals from the player and Tottenham that a deal could be done”.
