According to the Italian, there is “absolutely nothing” concrete between the two parties at this point. Despite reports suggesting a bid from the Blues, he insists that sources within Chelsea maintain that there is “nothing concrete” in terms of a deal for the French superstar.

Deal for French Star Squashed as Blues Focus On Caicedo as Priority

The Blues’ focus seems to lie elsewhere, with the club continuing to actively pursue the signing of Moises Caicedo. He  “We are working on our reality, our reality is different.” The Argentine coach highlighted his admiration for Mbappe, wishing for a solution that benefits both parties.

Chelsea Face Tough Competition From Saudi Arabia Should They Pursue Further

Amid the Chelsea speculations this week, Saudi Pro-League and PIF-funded club Al-Hilal, have reportedly submitted a world-record bid for Mbappe, valued at a staggering £259 million. The team are willing to offer the 24-year-old forward an astronomical £171 million for a one-season stay to seal the deal. The bid comes as Paris Saint-Germain opted to leave the striker out of their pre-season tour of Japan, signalling their intent to sell him unless he signs a new contract.

However, PSG are convinced that the player has already agreed to terms to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer. And, despite granting Al-Hilal permission to speak to the French star, Mbappe has reportedly shown no intention of playing in Saudi Arabia. This perhaps suggests that whether a deal with Los Blancos is signed or not, his future is still up in the air (for this season at least), leaving the door open for the Blues should they begin a tougher pursuit.
