According to a report from Christian Falk at Sport Bild, there have been developments in Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

German Giants Prepare Long Contract for Kane
Tottenham Hotspur fought throughout the summer of 2021 to keep Harry Kane from joining Manchester City and were successful in retaining their prized asset. Fast forward to summer 2023, and it seems they are losing the battle to keep the club’s record goalscorer.

According to the report in Sport Bild, Bayern Munich have been working behind the scenes for weeks to sign the 29-year-old forward. Most telling of all, the report details that the Bavarian giants have received a “commitment for a change” from the England captain following his rejection of an extension with Spurs. According to Falk, Kane is fully aware of Bayerns interest and the desire to give him a long contract, after expressing this wish to Kane, and his brother and advisor Charlie.

Harry Kane Nearing Spurs Exit
According to Falk, the Bundesliga champions will offer Kane described as “exceptional” by Pep Guardiola, a four, or five-year contract, which will be a big vote of confidence for a player that turns 30 on July 28 this year. The contract would reportedly see Kane earn £17.3 million a year at the Bavarian giants, making him one of the top earners in their squad.

It remains to be seen if Bayern Munich can successfully sign Kane. When Ange Postecoglu was asked about the 29-year-olds future, he seemed annoyed. “We don’t want to make it too long. I don’t think that’s good for anyone. I don’t think it’s good for Harry, I don’t think it’s good for the club.”
