Fabrizio Romano Makes Major Mason Mount to Manchester United Claim

What’s Happening in the Mason Mount to Manchester United Deal

Manchester United are pushing to sign Mason Mount with Erik ten Hag seemingly keen to strengthen his midfield this summer.

The Red Devils have a painful lack of depth in the middle of the park at the moment, and the addition of Mount would not only improve this situation, but would also add a bit of quality to their starting lineup.

Romano’s report reveals that his sources feel the deal will need to be completed by the end of next week if it is to have any chance of going through.

United are not keen to get involved in long, drawn-out negotiations, seemingly learning from their mistake from last summer with Frenkie de Jong. They are expected to make another bid for the Englishman but will insist on a quick response from Chelsea so that they can conclude their pursuit of Mount one way or another.

The English midfielder has already agreed in principle to a move to Old Trafford, as Romano confirms, but this is not all it will take for a deal to get over the line. While it is thought that between £60-65 million would be enough to convince Chelsea to part with Mount, United’s second bid for the player made on Wednesday falls a substantial £10 million short of this range.
