Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is set to join Liverpool after completing his medical for the club, which is scheduled for June 6, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Reds were able to acquire the Argentine’s services, despite interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Since joining the Seagulls from Argentinos Juniors in 2019, the midfielder has made remarkable progress in his career, transforming himself into one of the club’s key players. Over the span of four years, the 24-year-old has made 112 appearances for Brighton, contributing 20 goals and also 9 assists across all competitions.

In addition to his club exploits, the Argentine has shone for the national side as well. He played a crucial role in his country’s triumph at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, prompting former Manchester United player Paul Ince to call him an “all-round player.” Mac Allister also bid his Brighton fans an emotional farewell after their last game of the season, in anticipation of his move to Anfield.
