Manchester United Sent Transfer Message Over Mason Mount Move

United Looking to Sign the English Midfielder

This summer, it is clear that one of Erik ten Hag’s priorities is to complete the signing of Mount.

If the deal really is as close as it seems – with the agreement over a fee seemingly all that is left before it is completed – then this represents a major improvement in how United are conducting their transfer business.

Last summer, the Red Devils were embroiled in a transfer saga involving Frenkie de Jong which lasted virtually the entire summer, with United ending up opting to sign the now undroppable Casemiro as an alternative.

This lengthy process meant that when the 2022/23 season started, United were still lining up with Scott McTominay and Fred as their double pivot in midfield, while there was only one signing for whom they had paid a transfer fee in the lineup (Lisandro Martinez).

It seems that United have now vowed not to make the same mistake again and are sensibly trying to conduct their transfer business early such that their new signings can have time to integrate themselves into the squad during preseason before getting started next campaign.
