Romano adds that the La Liga giants will remain respectful towards Dortmund and are willing to play the waiting game before making their official bid for the England international – as they realise that the German club are tangled in a crunch Bundesliga title race with Bayern Munich.

It’s also stated that Madrid will send their official proposal to Dortmund soon and it will be a bid that will have add-ons included in it as well. Bellingham is rumoured to be valued at well over £100 million by the German giants – who actually signed him for about £25 million from Birmingham City back in 2020.

How Does Bellingham Fit In at Madrid?

Despite being only 19, Bellingham is widely considered as one of the best midfielders in world football and has already become a captain for Dortmund at such a young age. He’s been spearheading their title challenge in the Bundesliga and helped them cope well without Erling Haaland, who left for Manchester City last summer.

Bellingham can be the ideal midfielder to rejuvenate Madrid’s ageing midfield, with the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric nearing the end of their careers. The 19-year-old is an explosive midfielder who can do it all, be it defensive work, winning the ball in vital areas, carrying the ball forward – and creating as well as scoring goals in the final third. The Englishman was praised as “fabulous” by Rio Ferdinand during the Qatar World Cup and will continue his impressive career ascension by moving to a major club in the summer.
