Real Madrid are now closing in on completing a deal to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, confirms Fabrizio Romano. The English midfielder has attracted interest from multiple Premier League sides like Liverpool and Manchester United, but looks to be on his way to Spain.

The Red Devils were reported to be interested in a potential deal for Bellingham in the summer, with Erik ten Hag being a big fan of his, but they realized that it could be complicated because of the finances involved. However, it appears that Madrid have worked quickly behind the scenes to take the lead to sign the highly-rated Dortmund midfielder.

Romano also adds that negotiations are now in the final stages for Bellingham to agree to become a new player for Los Blancos in the summer. Personal terms between the club and player are reported to be almost agreed upon, with Madrid’s Chief Scout Juni Calafat having played a key role in getting this deal over the line. It’s also claimed by Romano that Real Madrid have scheduled a new meeting with the Bundesliga club to fully finalize an agreement for the midfielder’s transfer very soon.

The Englishman is one of the most exciting young footballers in Europe right now, having transcended to greater heights at Dortmund. At the age of just 19, he has already captained the German side and played a major role in helping them compete in the Bundesliga title race this season – having scored five goals and provided as many assists in 29 league appearances in this campaign.

Bellingham, described as ‘Exceptional’ by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, has also already been cappred 24 times by England – scoring one goal.
