Manchester United Suffer Blow as Bundesliga Giants Target ‘Very Complete’ Forward

Randal Kolo Muani

Bayern Munich have identified Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani as their top transfer target for the summer window, claims Fabrizio Romano. Manchester United could be impacted by this, amid reports that they’re interested in the striker as well.

Bayern Munich Ready to Push for Muani Signing

The Red Devils are likely to push for signing a new striker in the summer after lacking a quality one in this campaign. January signing Wout Weghorst has not been good enough, and Anthony Martial has struggled with fitness issues all season.

However, Romano adds that Bayern have added Muani to the top of their summer transfer wish list as they also aim to sign a prolific forward to fix their own issues in attack. The German giants have struggled for goals since Robert Lewandowski’s departure to Barcelona, and summer signing Sadio Mane has not been able to fill that void either.

Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel, who was only recently appointed after his sacking from Chelsea, addressed his club’s links to a summer move for Muani. He said: “I can’t say it’s true because it’s not a topic right now — and if it was true, I wouldn’t say it’s true!”

The 24-year-old Frenchman has been getting a lot of attention since impressing as a substitute for the French national team at the Qatar World Cup, even scoring a goal for them in the competition. Muani has been working wonders for Frankfurt this season, having scored 21 goals and provided 15 assists across all competitions.

He’s impressed a lot of people, including national teammate Kylian Mbappe – who hailed him as a “very complete” player earlier this season. Muani is recognised for his pace, impressive close control and finishing ability in the final third. It will reportedly take a major bid to get him away from Frankfurt in the summer, and Manchester United have previously been reported to be open to making a bid of over £100 million for him. With that being said, with Bayern now pushing for the deal, it’ll take United something special to get this deal done.
