Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott is attracting major interest from the Premier League after his impressive performances this season, confirms Fabrizio Romano. The 19-year-old has featured in every single one of the Championship side’s games this season and won over a lot of admirers.

Impressive Performances

The 19-year-old midfielder produced a string of superb performances for his side in the FA Cup this season, even scoring a goal in their win over West Bromwich Albion in the fourth round. While they went down to a crushing 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the fifth round, Scott’s performance even managed to win over Pep Guardiola.

The City manager hailed the teen as ‘an unbelievable player’ after the FA Cup clash and was impressed by what he saw from the youngster. Romano adds that Scott is one player to follow in the summer transfer window and that there is a lot of interest from the Premier League for him – with his club likely to ask for around £25 million to sign him.

It has been reported that Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are among the teams ready to fight it out for his signing in the summer – with the latter having recently lost Rodrigo Bentancur to an injury for the rest of the season.

Who is Scott?

Born in the Channel Islands in 2003, Scott started his youth career for Guernsey in 2019. After one year with them, he joined Bristol City in 2020 and has been regularly featuring for their first team over the last few seasons. He’s already made 73 appearances in the Championship so far in his career, scoring four goals and providing seven assists in this time.

The Englishman can play in a variety of positions in midfield – having operated as a defensive midfielder, centre-midfielder and an attacking midfielder for the Robins in his career. The versatile player has made 39 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and providing five assists. After receiving such praise from an iconic manager like Guardiola, he’ll aim to get even better and could be in line for a Premier League move in the summer.
