Chelsea ‘Ready to Move Heaven and Earth’ to Sign ‘Exceptional’ Star Being Chased by Manchester City & Real Madrid

Chelsea are strongly considering a move to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, claims The Telegraph’s Matt Law. This is despite their £600 million transfer surge over the last two windows in which they signed midfielders like Enzo Fernandez and Denis Zakaria.

Chelsea Ready to ‘Move Heaven and Earth’ to Sign Jude Bellingham

The teenager has impressed a lot of major European sides with his heroics at Dortmund since joining the club a couple of years ago. Law adds that the Blues will face stiff competition from clubs like Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid for the midfielder and all three are in a better position to sign him than Chelsea.

Despite that, it’s added that co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have worked hard to establish contacts with Bellingham’s representatives and made him a top transfer target. Law also states that they are even prepared to “move heaven and earth” to sign the 19-year-old – after being impressed with what they saw when attending England’s win over Iran at the Qatar World Cup – in which he scored a goal.

Chelsea might have signed Enzo Fernandez for a British transfer record last month, but they are still on the hunt to sign a new midfielder, with The Telegraph reporting that Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo also remain among their key targets.

Bellingham Shows His Skills in the Champions League

Incidentally, the Blues got a first-hand experience of just what kind of a player Bellingham is when they faced him in a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund. The first leg took place at the Signal Iduna Park in Germany, with the return leg happening at Stamford Bridge.

Having only won two out of their last 13 Premier League games, the Blues are in some topsy-turvy form. Bellingham, however, is in excellent form this season – having scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 27 appearances this season. The 19-year-old – who was called “exceptional” by Jurgen Klopp earlier this season – aims to prove how good he is by performing to his best for the rest of the season ahead of a potential transfer war in the summer window.
