Abde Ezzalzouli’s Early Career:
Ezzalzouli was born in Morocco and raised in Spain. He joined Barcelona in August 2021 and made his professional debut for the club in October 2021. The youngster quickly made a name for himself and impressed with his first goal for the club in a 2–2 draw against Osasuna, leading head coach Xavi to label him ‘spectacular’.
Contract Renewal, Loan Move and International Recognition
In September 2022, the Moroccan renewed his contract with the Blaugrana until 2026 and was loaned out to Osasuna. He also made an immediate impact with Los Rojillos, assisting the winning goal in his first appearance for the club against Rayo Vallecano.
The 21-year-old’s impressive form did not go unnoticed by the Atlas Lions. In September 2022, he was called up to the Morocco squad and made his international debut in a 2–0 victory over Chile. Moreover, he was also named in Morocco’s 26-man squad for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Chelsea’s Interest and Barcelona’s Decision
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Ezzalzouli, following their record-breaking January transfer window. The club brought in several high-profile players to bolster their attack, including Joao Felix, Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk and Datro Fofana. However, it seems Chelsea are not done strengthening their squad and is considering a move for the Moroccan.

Ezzalzouli’s future, however, remains uncertain as Barcelona will decide on it at the end of the season. The Catalan club has the final say on whether he will stay or be sold, and it remains to be seen what decision they will make. Ezzalzouli is a promising young player with a bright future ahead of him. His talent and potential make him a player to watch in the coming years.
