‘Qatari Investors Have Made Their Interest Clear’: Manchester United Potential Buyers Named Ahead of ‘Soft Deadline’

Manchester United Takeover

Manchester United are now attracting five serious bidders over the potential takeover of the club from the Glazer Family, as per the Daily Mail’s Mike Keegan. The Red Devils were put up for sale last year and could see new owners before the start of next season.

Manchester United Attracting Interest From Five Potential Buyers

Qatar and Saudi Arabia Investors Interested in Manchester United

It has been reported that there is a ‘soft deadline’ before which those parties interested in buying the Manchester side must make their bids to be considered over a potential purchase of the Old Trafford club. That deadline is next Friday (17 February) and that is forcing multiple parties to be revealed among the contenders for this deal.

Keegan also states that a group of Qatar-based private investors have made their interest clear and are trying their best to launch an attempt for a full takeover of the Red Devils. It was also reported recently that the Qatar investors have made big plans in case their bid is successful, with reports they’re ready to hand Erik ten Hag a major transfer war chest to strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window.

He adds that those investors are likely to face competition from four competitors, including multiple unnamed parties from Saudi Arabia – although not the ones who own Newcastle United. Moreover, there is also reported interest from USA investors to make a bid for the club as well.

It is also reported that Britain’s richest man, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is trying to convince banks – including Goldman Sachs – to provide him with debt financing for a potential bid. He has already announced his intention to try and buy United through his company INEOS.

Manchester United Could Be Under New Ownership Before Summer Transfer Window

It was reported by The Athletic a few months ago that the Raine Group have been given the responsibility of overseeing this potential Manchester United takeover – and aiming to get it completed before the first quarter of 2023. That would mean that the Red Devils could have new owners before the summer transfer window.

Keeagan further adds that the Glazer Family reportedly wants around £6 billion to relinquish their control of the club anytime soon. With the majority of the Manchester club’s fanbase wanting their current owners out – with huge Glazers Out protests held in recent years – it appears that the fans may get what they want and have new owners soon.
