Tottenham Hotspur Wing-Back Saga Finally Over as ‘Very Talented’ Player’s Shirt Number Revealed

Tottenham Hotspur Pedro Porro Deal Officially Announced

Why Tottenham Hotspur Wanted Pedro Porro

The main reason Tottenham Hotspur wanted Pedro Porro is the fact that they are incredibly lacklustre at right-back. Matt Doherty was one of the more recent attempts at filling the position and he has since been released from his contract with the North London club. Meanwhile, the Spaniard was available at Sporting CP for the right price. It was too good of an opportunity for Spurs to pass up, with Porro eventually completing the move at the very end of the transfer window.

What is Pedro Porro’s Shirt Number?

The wing-back will play with the number 23 for Tottenham Hotspur. There are plenty of previous holders that fans will love to see on the list, including Steven Bergwijn, Christian Eriksen and Darren Bent. However, loyal Lilywhites will hope that he doesn’t follow in the footsteps of Sol Campbell. Only nine players have held the shirt before, so hopefully the Spaniard can be ten out of ten in his time at the club.

How Was Tottenham Hotspur’s Deadline Day?

Deadline day was somewhat questionable for Antonio Conte and his team. Despite bringing in the talented Porro, the summer signing of Djed Spence has gone out on loan to keep developing. This could be a sign that the club still isn’t quite where it needs to be, and means that signing the Sporting player doesn’t add any depth to the Spurs squad. January transfer windows are about careful planning and rebalancing your squad, and like so many other clubs, Tottenham Hotspur’s approach has seemed somewhat scattergun.
