Tottenham Hotspur Holding Talks for £30 Million Defender

Pedro Porro

Tottenham Hotspur are offering a £30 million fixed fee plus add-ons for Sporting defender, Pedro Porro, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist adds that there are also discussions involving one player to be included as part of the deal and talks will begin a new round of talks today.

Tottenham Hotspur Holding Talks for Pedro Porro

Previous Bid Rejected

Spurs saw their opening bid for the 23-year-old rejected last week, meaning Antonio Conte is still yet to add to his squad during the transfer window.

However, the latest update from Romano suggests that the north London club may be close to securing their first signing, despite Sporting previously holding out for their £39.3 million release clause.

Conte is short of options in the right-back/right-wing-back positions. Emerson Royal has turned out 23 times this season with Matt Doherty making 15 appearances, but Conte is looking for better options.

The Italian also has summer signing Djed Spence and Japhet Tanganga as options but both appear out of favour, with just over 200 minutes played between them.

Pedro Porro Career

A move to Girona in 2017 was followed by a transfer to England two years later when Pedro Porro joined Manchester City.

The defender spent three years at the Etihad but failed to make an appearance for the club, with time spent on loan at Valladolid and Sporting before joining the Portuguese club on a permanent basis.

Porro has won the Primeira Liga once and the Taça da Liga twice during his time in Lisbon, and has scored 12 goals and added 20 assists from 96 appearances for the club.

Romano has added that Porro is keen to ensure a return to England, meaning a move to Tottenham is beginning to look likely.
