Chelsea Not Interested in Signing Forward Called ‘Biggest Talent in the World’ by Erling Haaland

Youssoufa Moukoko

Chelsea are no longer interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko, claims Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenburg. The teenage sensation is currently in the midst of a contract standoff with the German club, with his current deal set to expire in the summer.

Moukoko Unable to Agree New Deal With Borussia Dortmund

The 18-year-old striker has come up through the youth academy system of the Bundesliga side, but his representatives want him to be given a lucrative new deal to stay with them for many more years. At this point, Dortmund are offering him wages of £2.6 million per year plus bonus payments depending on his performances.

However, Moukoko’s agents have made it clear that they have no ambitions of accepting this offer at all. They are demanding more and increasing the transfer interest in him from some of Europe’s biggest clubs by delaying the contract talks to take place later in January.

Chelsea were reportedly in the race to sign him and interested in making him a part of their ambitious future project. But Plettenburg adds that they are barely interested in the player one dubbed as the ‘biggest talent in the world’ by Manchester City goal machine Erling Haaland, as the Blues are focused on improving other parts of their squad.

Chelsea Eyeing Explosive January Transfer Window

The London side are looking to become the winners of the winter transfer window even after spending a record amount in transfer fees in last year’s summer transfer window. They have already announced the signing of young striker David Datro Fofana from Molde, which is perhaps why Chelsea are not that interested in pursuing a move for Moukoko anymore.

But they are reportedly close to finalising a few more deals, including one for AS Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile. The Blues are trying to build a lucrative future project under Graham Potter and ensure that they can keep challenging for the Premier League titles well into the end of this decade.
