Leeds United vs Manchester City – Predictions and Best Odds

Leeds United Current Run of Form

Form is incredibly hard to decipher for any team at the moment after the season was broken up by the World Cup break. Before the break the Whites were doing well, securing wins over Bournemouth and Liverpool before losing to Tottenham Hotspur in the last match before the break. The Yorkshire side has also played well in recent friendlies, securing wins over Elche and Real Sociedad before a loss to AS Monaco. Leeds United will come into this with a little bit of hope.

Manchester City Current Run of Form

Manchester City have a fairly depleted squad thanks to a selection of World Cup players throughout the squad. However, there was still more than enough talent to beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, after coming out on top 2-0 against Girona in the side’s only friendly. A loss against Brentford before the break could be a worry, however, with the Bees winning 2-1 to harm the Manchester side’s title hopes.

Recent Head to Head

Last season was absolutely dominant for the Sky Blues against the Whites, with a 7-0 win and a 4-0 win showing the sheer power of the team’s strikeforce. However, the season before saw Leeds United get both a win and a draw against Manchester City. With Jesse Marsch’s side playing better against high-quality teams, could this be the case yet again?

Leeds United vs Manchester City Prediction

Whilst fans in Elland Road will be hopeful for a result, there isn’t too much to be optimistic about. Erling Haaland’s return to his place of birth could see him scoring plenty after a month of rest, and Leeds United’s tendency to concede to long balls switched across the pitch will be incredibly tempting for Kevin De Bruyne. Perhaps the Whites can snatch something, but it doesn’t look too likely, especially with Tyler Adams out of contention.

Current Odds: Leeds United vs Manchester City

Leeds United are distant outsiders at 9/1, with a City win at 1/3. A draw comes in at 5/1.
